HYDROSEEDING FROM MASTERLAWNS
What It Is and When to Do It
At Master Lawns, LLC we are proud to offer an inexpensive alternative to sod and hand seeding. Hydroseeding involves the process of mixing water, seed, mulch and fertilizer in the precise proportions and hydraulically applying it to prepared soil.
Hydroseeding is the most economical choice for establishing the growing results desired without the expense, time consumption, material costs or installation demands of sodding or traditional hand seeding methods. Hydroseeding typically costs 50 to 80 per cent less than the price of just the sod, and coupled with labor charges, the overall expenses associated with sodding can be astronomical.
With the savings in material costs and installation expenses, a lawn could be fully established for half the price of sod. The savings that can be achieved when comparing the square footage costs are the same savings that are getting passed on to our client’s bottom line.
Hydroseeding is a cost effective solution over hand seeding as well. While the average hand-sewn lawn takes about half the day, the same area can be hydroseeded to completion in about an hour to an hour and a half, on site.
A hydroseeded area that is properly watered will start to grow in about seven days during proper times of the year.
Under normal conditions, the new lawn will be well established in about three to four weeks. Hydroseeded grass starts out in the soil you place it in and is not subjected to transplant shock that can occur when your soil is different from the original soil the sod was grown in. Hydroseeded lawns grow in healthy and full to crowd out weeds and resist disease.
We have almost 30 years of hydroseeding experience, including new commercial construction, residential, reclamation and jobsite erosion control. Hydroseeding is best suited for bare soil areas 5000 sq. ft. and larger
